The Wye Valley is an ideal area for putting on a bike bash. It has gorgeous scenery, good riding roads all around, and historic sites and towns for the sad people to visit whist doing the touristy bit. One such pleasant place in the valley is Symonds Yat. On a geographical note it is second to none. The Yat' is situated on the River Wye and is split into two halves, 'East' in the county of Gloucestershire, and 'West' in Herefordshire. The river has done the job of cutting out a huge gorge in the Carboniferous Limeston rock beds, which has left steep cliffs to which the western edge of the ancient Royal Forest Of Dean sprawls along.
