The Wye Valley is an ideal area for putting on a bike bash. It has gorgeous scenery, good riding roads all around, and historic sites and towns for the sad people to visit whist doing the touristy bit. One such pleasant place in the valley is Symonds Yat. On a geographical note it is second to none. The Yat' is situated on the River Wye and is split into two halves, 'East' in the county of Gloucestershire, and 'West' in Herefordshire. The river has done the job of cutting out a huge gorge in the Carboniferous Limeston rock beds, which has left steep cliffs to which the western edge of the ancient Royal Forest Of Dean sprawls along. This is your geography lesson endeth

Just set off the main A40 drag between Ross On Wye and Monmouth is Symonds Yat West, and the Henry Danter family owned Leisure Park. It's a full on amusement site that's open all year round, and includes a large campsite. With all of it's amenities, it's an ideal choice to hold an annual bike rally there. The Clubless Riders take full advantage of this on the first weekend after Midsummer each year. The Throttle & Bottle Rally' is aptly named due to the ride to the rally, and then having a hammering of alcohol to wash down the road grime from inside one's gob. There's plenty to do once there to keep the rugrats amused, and even the child within the adult. A small scale funfair which won't empty the wallet too much, and an amusement arcade that will, both do battle to gain your attention before you lose the kiddies in the soft play and jungle areas. Once you have found them again you canall climb aboard the pleasure boat and sail off down the river with them.
